August New Moon: Leo

August's new moon is in Leo, exact today at 6:13 AM CT. The Leo moon may be a day of fun, as it encourages playfulness, spontaneity, and connection with our "inner child," and I like to include "inner teen" as well because we experience great change during adolescence and for many of us, it is a time of deep wounds.

Self-expression may come easier at this time, especially regarding creative endeavors and revealing true feelings about a situation. Be clear and calm in communication to avoid extra drama with someone who may have unhealthy patterns.

Embrace present moment-ness by spending time with children, pets, or nature. It's a perfect day for gardening, hiking, tree-hugging, and picnicking.

Shine a light on your self-expression and intention by incorporating mirrors, candles, or a campfire in spellwork today. Leo new moon gives us an extra boost to begin something new, but be sure to do so with an open heart.
