Each of the Celtic trees correlates with an animal symbol. The Celtic day of Gorse, the day before the spring equinox, is associated with:

Animal: Bee

In the Ted Andrews' Animal Wise Tarot, the bee is depicted on the Lovers card, which is about fertility, sexuality, and spiritual choices that "fertilize" our life. It symbolizes collecting the sweetness in life and embracing opportunities to pollinate our future. Bee energy represents group organization with clearly defined roles and tasks assigned to each member. Bees are excellent communicators who learn from each other. Bees remind us that efforts are more productive and sweeter if we take time to enjoy them, rather than overextending ourselves.

According to The Wild Unknown Animal Spirit deck, bee is earnest, hardworking, and democratic. Bee energy is delightful, and enthusiastic about teamwork. At their heart, they are artists who add creative details to the overall vision. When in balance, they are content, active, and vibrant. When out of balance, they feel overworked, burned out, and annoyed. To bring the energy back into balance, take a mini-vacation.

If you've been keeping too busy with obligations, this may be your sign to delegate some of your load to others, or to take a day or two off to recharge and recover from working so much. You deserve a day of wonder and fun. Rest is productive. Play is productive.
